The most expensive chair ever

A chair named the "Dragon Chair" developed by Irish designer Ellen Gray in 1919 sold for a record 21.9 Euros ($27.8 million) in 2009 making it the most expensive chair in the world. We've got swank designer chairs for a lot less than than! How many offices could be decked out for a cool $29mil??

Ergonomic to the bone...

We caught Teutel Sr. lounging around in a bright orange Herman Miller Embody chair on Orange County Choppers the other night. Pops Teutul probably does need nice comfortable chair after riding around on choppers all day!

The adjustable workstation power boost!

According to recent studies, users of adjustable workstations are 25% more productive than those who use boring, non-adjustable furniture (or a kitchen table and stool). Take that logic a little further and upgrade to a movin' and groovin' workspace with the Envelop desk - it actually reclines with you, keeping your monitor at eye level. http://www.sit4less.com/products/Herman-miller/Envelop-desk/875

That "new chair smell" could be hazardous to your health!

That "new chair smell" is commonly caused by adhesives used in the manufacturing process. VOCs, or volatile organic compounds, can affect respiratory and immune systems - Not to mention dry itchy eyes. Environmentally conscious furniture makers like Steelcase, Humanscale, Haworth and Herman Miller use safer adhesives to avoid this common problem. Sit4Less.com/EnvironmentallyFriendly offers many environmentally friendly and LEED certified products for your home and small office.

Sayl, Herman Miller's Newest Addition

Great design, affordable price
As affordable as it is inventive, SAYL proves our belief that a reasonably priced work chair can be well designed and include leading-edge ergonomics. Designing SAYL started with understanding the needs of people and designing an ergonomic work chair that incorporates everything that Herman Miller chairs are known for. By rethinking every part, we were able to create a better, smarter chair that sets a new reference point in its class for performance, ergonomics, quality, and appearance.

3D Intelligent Technology
SAYL's revolutionary 3D Intelligent suspension back molds the support you need into the back material, eliminating hard edges and the need for a frame. The suspension back is a flexible elastomer that adapts to each person's unique shape and provides exceptional comfort and support for just about all body types.

Eco-Dematerialised Design
Yves Béhar is big on environmental responsibility in design. The result is a lightweight chair that is 93 percent recyclable. Structural components are hollowed out, reducing weight and volume. The ArcSpan, arm structure, and tilt mechanism are fused into a single strong part that also reduces the chair's weight. The SAYL work chair weighs only 37 pounds. SAYL chairs ship ready to assemble.

"The Best for the Most for the Least"
It was the standard for the furniture designs of Charles and Ray Eames and an inspiration for Yves Béhar when working on SAYL: Make a product that is the best design for the most people at the smallest cost. "Our goal was to make a work chair that is everything a Herman Miller chair should be in terms of ergonomics, elegant styling, superior engineering, and ecological responsibility—and be able to offer it at a very attainable price."

Elegant Anywhere
Shape matters, especially when introducing a chair into your home. At a desk, around a table, in the living room. The organic shape of the SAYL back makes it elegant anywhere, from every angle. And SAYL color choices let you express your individuality. Mix colors on the seat, back and arm pads for a bold look. Or match them for a more traditional appearance.

Celebrity Office Chair Sightings!

All the blogs are buzzing with the latest celebrity sightings and scandals. But you know what we find even more exciting? Office Seating. After all, we do spend approximately 9 years of our life sitting in them. Here, we’ve spotted some of our office chairs in some high profile TV shows!

The Aeron is Everywhere!

The Aeron chair is making its way across the screen…at least on NBC and FOX. I’ve seen it on three hit shows in the past year. Way to go on product placement, Herman Miller!

The first place I saw it was “30 Rock.” Tina Fey does her quirky daily activities in the Aeron. It fits her and her office though. It’s modern and different, yet very business like. Definitely adds something to the screen!

NBC’s “The Office” also had them appear in the Stamford Offices a couple of seasons ago. Karen (Jim’s old girlfriend…uh oh! Watch out, Pam!) was using hers to squeak and annoy Jim…I think that was her way of flirting.

FOX seems to be following NBC’s footsteps. Dr. House on “House” sits in an Aeron too! I wonder if Herman Miller meant to place them on these shows… Despite, it worked because I definitely noticed them and thought they were pretty cool!

The Freedom Chair has an “Entourage”!

The Freedom chair made an appearance on HBO’s “Entourage” this season. It caught my eye when E accepted his new job at a hotshot agency. His big bad executive boss was sitting in it when they had to discuss Bob Saget’s outrageous (yet hilarious!) demands. The leather executive chair definitely made him look important!

Eames Lounge Chair is Not Only Fabulous, but It Also Helps Solve Medical Cases!

The Eames Lounge Chair is in the hottest new places on screen! I saw it displayed in “Sex and the City” when Charlotte was helping Carrie decorate her new office with modern, brand name furniture. They were giggling about some absurd price on a desk and then strolled passed an Eames Lounge when Carrie declared, “I need fabulous furniture for my fabulous new apartment!” The Eames Lounge will give you that, Carrie! Those chairs are definitely something that need to be displayed!

Dr. House on “House” thinks so too. (Great minds must think alike). He spends his time in the comfort of his Eames Lounger to have a clear mind to help him solve the mysterious medical cases. What a better way to help people, but in style and comfort!
